Yakiniku Tendan

The First Name in Grilled Meat

Yakiniku Tendan was established in Gion, Kyoto in 1965.
Kyoto is Japan’s top destination for gourmet food, so when it comes to taste, Kyoto-ites are Japan’s most demanding diners.
Japanese magazines frequently fun special features on the gourmet scene in Kyoto.

We opened in this environment in Kyoto over 50 years ago.
Nowadays yakiniku is universally loved by Japanese people, but back then it was not a common concept.

We faced the challenge of delivering the tastes and flavors of yakiniku to the notoriously demanding diners of Kyoto. Our yakiniku style is the result of years of trial and error.
Yakiniku eaten with tare, a soup dip that brings to mind dashi soup stock. Our yakiniku style is based on the same original recipes that quickly won over the demanding diners of Kyoto.

We worked together with the people of Kyoto to develop the taste of “Kyoto Yakiniku” that is now enjoyed by many as far away as Tokyo.

Our tare soup dip is an outstanding complement to the sirloin and rib loin we offer.

Japan has more to offer than traditional Japanese food.
We invite you to try a yakiniku taste produced for the pickiest of palates of Kyoto.
